Emerald Valley Quilters, known as EVQ, was founded in 1992.  We are a not-for-profit guild.   The purposes of this organization are: to encourage and share the art of quilting, to educate and learn, preserve and pass along information about quilts of the past and present, to exhibit fine examples of the art in public and to encourage quilt making and collection, both private and public.

Our membership is composed of those interested in quilts and quilting and allied arts.  We are a non-discriminatory organization with regards to race, color, creed, gender or national origin.

General and board meetings are held monthly. We meet on the third Thursday of each month. There are both afternoon and evening meetings. The doors for the afternoon meeting open at 1:00 PM for social time, with the meeting beginning at 1:30 PM. The doors for the evening meeting open at 6:30 PM for social time, with the meeting begins at 7 PM. Board meetings are held the first Thursday of the month. Our meetings are held at Springfield Lutheran Church, 1542 “I” Street, Springfield, Oregon, across from McKenzie Willamette ER entrance.

EVQ hosts a variety of workshops throughout the year that are open to members for $30.00 and non-members for $50.00. EVQ has a biennial Quilt show and Members retreat.

EVQ is very involved in giving to our community. We’ve given out nearly 10,000 bears to children and organizations that can benefit from them. Quilts are given to groups such as Bags of Love, The Eugene Mission, Quilts of Hope (NICU), Shelter care, Looking glass and many others. We have donation fabrics for members to choose from to help make community service quilts.

Interested in a sew group? We have them too! We offer satellite groups, some specialize in a specific technique  or just gather for friendship and sewing.
